The Final Project
Welcome to the Final Project! Technically we have one more week after this, but we wanted to make sure you had time to work on your final project. We also wanted to use the week after this to explore some of the "next steps" to becoming a streamer.
It's time to take what you've learned over the course of this... course... to create one last stream. A stream to end all streams. Show us what you've got! Head down to the Assignments tab to get started.

Loot for your mind
Not much here this week! Head on over to the Assignment tab to learn more about your midterm project. However, regarding content, it's not a bad idea to head back to earlier weeks and explore prior readings and work you've submitted. Be sure to check out the Discussion. You must provide a critique for a stream this week, and that may be done through your Discussion assignment. Good luck on your final!

Discussion Requirements
In each week, you will have a Discussion assignment that will help to prepare you for that week's main assignment. You are required to:
- make an initial post answering the questions provided, and
- to respond to at least one peer.
You won't be able to see any of your peer's posts until after you have posted. Your response should be go beyond a simple "good job" or other basic complement. While there isn't a hard requirement on the length of your response, 100 words would be a good starting place.
The reason we only require a single response is that we are encouraging you to engage your instructor and peers through Blackboard Collaborate and Discord in real-time discussion. The questions presented here are to help you to form ideas for your main assignment, as well as allow you to more deeply analyze what your peers are thinking about as they prepare for their assignments. Your peers may be in-class students, or they may be remote and in an entirely different time-zone. We want to ensure that you all have the same opportunities to collaborate and learn from each other. We want you to be fully prepared and confident going into your main assignments.
Discord
Discord chats are set up by week, and are supplemental to your actual assignments. Click the icon below to access the channel. Please participate in these chats! Discord is a very popular tool used by the streaming community, so if you're not familiar with it, this is your chance! Use the Discussion assignment to help organize your interactions. It's our hope that you find people through this class that you can collaborate with, game with, and stream with in your careers; you are welcome to invite your peers to other channels that you use!

After submitting your stream, find one of your peers' streams to critique. As stated in the Assignment area, your critique must be a minimum of 300 words. Because you'll obviously need to have completed your stream before it can be posted here (the linear nature of time is so boring!), you will have until the 4th day of Week 12 to complete this critique.
Submission Instructions
- Read the discussion rubric. You will be graded on this rubric!
- Make an initial post based on the assignment prompt provided.
- Reply to at least one peer with a substantial response.
- Use Discord for further discussion.

It's time for you to complete your final stream! Complete a 15 minute stream (minimum - but please keep it under 30 min!). Like with your midterm assignment, if you do not have the ability to stream, you can upload a video to YouTube. Twitch should be your streaming platform, and video archiving should be turned on (don't accidently lose your assignment!).
Let's refresh; what can you stream? Video games (such as by PC or console), IRL (In-Real-Life) via your personal phone or handheld device, commentary on a recorded event, an "episode" of your design, or VLOG (video blog)-like content. If you find these options too restricting, let your instructor know of your preference. Remember, the goal is simply 15 minutes (minimum) of streaming content (in this case, it will not be streamed live to your instructor). What you should NOT do is record a 15 minute PowerPoint. Not only is this more difficult (a 15min presentation requires a LOT of preparation!), it does not get at the core of what we want to see with live-streaming. Do note that a pre-recorded stream offers a lot of opportunity for editing before the stream is presented to your audience.
New to your final project: We want to see improvements in relation to your midterm project and the incorporation of concepts we covered in the second half of this class. You will be graded on completion of the assignment, the minimum time requirement, and the improvements/incorporation of concepts introduced since your midterm.
But wait, there's more! After completing your final stream, you will be required to provide a critique (minimum 300 words) of another stream. This should be completed as your Discussion assignment.
Submission Requirements
You are expected to be professional and to follow student guidelines. Profanity and nudity are not acceptable. Topics of political and religious debate should be avoided
This assignment is due no later than 11:59 PM at the end of the seventh day of class.
Your critique is due no later than 11:59 PM at the end of the fourth day of Week 12.
